A brief History of Luftflotten 200

Once upon a time, way back, a long time ago when the online flight sim universe consisted of nothing more elaborate than warbirds suspended in the midst of a great emptiness, a squad was formed and the squad was filled with dweebs who knew how to buff, but not how to fly fighters. One day a light shined down from heaven, and there he was, ladies and gentlemen, the Good Lord. He took a look at the squad and he said to himself: "Quite an attractive squad - this squad could be commercial - with a few more margueritas and the right company."  [Ahem... OK, maybe not. Although we were definitely on the right track with the margueritas.]

Kampfgeschwader 200 started out life in Warbirds, under the guidance and steady (eh-he-heh) hand of some chap called Potman. The squad was originally formed after a small mutiny within the ranks of another squad, a squad that shall remain nameless. This was partly because many felt the CO of the squad that shall remain nameless was not up to the Herculean task, but mostly because the CO of the squad that shall remain nameless had the key to the hand grenade closet. The KG 200 break away CO was he who had whined the loudest, and looked the most gullible - namely Potman. And lo, Potman did (upon Tachel's advice) appoint Tachel as a sort of Cardinal Richelieu/eminence gris vibe of XO. Out of the ashes of the old squad...a shining silver bird arose...destined to sew up the skies with our gleaming needles...the new and vibrant squad that was Kampfgeschwader 200! 

After a while, or perhaps even several whiles, KG 200 became known and sometimes even feared (especially among sheep) throughout the Main Arena of WB as one of the premier bomber squads, usually scoring in the top five for bombers in the squads pages.

However, this is internet gaming, and things change. And these nice people called Hitech Creations invented a new silly game for geeks with modems and joysticks to waste their time, money and lives on. It was called Aces High. And lo, it came to pass that the CO played this new game and he reckoned it was the dogs doodads. And so he conned all and sundry into moving to AH - even the lone Mac guy in the squad (the squad macsot, perhaps?!?) such was the power of his endless oratory on email, and spam-like bulletins of incredible AH screenshots...

And so, the worm turns, things change and in the summer of 2004 a new revolution started, upheaval happened, and the Kamfgeschwader 200 Kommadore (CO) was replaced by a much more handsome man of the world.  And it was very good!  Since we live in the land of "Happily Ever After", the old fart was allowed to come back occasionally (but rarely) to see the product of his labors as the new KG 200 soared to new heights.

KG200 has become (or is becoming) an important fixture in the ahii skies.  We have grown to a Luftflotten with 3 great Geschwaders battling for all that's good and proper in our virtual world... Knit Domination!!!
